SAMBA II SCoV-2/Flu/RSV Test

The SAMBA II SCoV-2/Flu/RSV Test (P/N 8900) is a nucleic-acid based amplification test for the qualitative detection of nucleic acids from SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A, Influenza B and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in human respiratory specimens (nose and throat swabs). The assay is intended for use by professionals and trained operators on the SAMBA II instrument system in clinical and point-of-care settings.

The test specifically amplifies and detects one region of the SARS-CoV-2 genome (ORF1ab), one region of the Influenza A genome (RNA Polymerase 2), one region of the Influenza B genome (non-structural protein) and one region of the RSV genome specific to both RSV-A and RSV-B (phosphoprotein). These are reported as four distinct lines on the test strip. A fifth line on the test strip, the internal control, is present to verify in the absence of a test line, that each specimen was processed correctly and that no inhibitors of amplification were present.
